Since 1995, the National Underground Railroad Museum (NURM) has preserved the shared heritage of blacks and whites as it relates to slavery and the antebellum era; the abolitionist movement and the Underground Railroad; and events leading to the Civil War. Experience the Borderland, the land between freedom and slavery where dramatic historical events unfolded. Visit NURM to view artifacts regarding the abolitionist movement and slavery, and exhibits featuring local anti-slavery activists whose efforts made a national impact.
